I currently have a Melanurus wrasse in my 360 gall DT. I was thinking about getting 3 Red Velvet (1 male & 2 females) to add. Anyone think this will cause issues?

Not with the melanurus, no. But I forsee issue when one of the female red velvets transitions to male alongside the existing male...

Thanks, so would you recommend only 1-2, or is there a larger number I can add such as with anthias?

Or should I get several females & hope only 1 turns to a male?

IMO, Eventually all the females will turn male, and as they do, the oldest male will be 'eliminated'

So a pair is the max?

I would say so

For me Melanurus have been hit or miss with aggression almost in the same category as six lines and mysteries so there will be never another one in my tank

I wouldn't even bother with a pair; just stick with a single.

My large Red Velvet is the lord of the tank but he doesnt bother any of the halichoeres wrasse. The other flasher and fairy wrasse are not so lucky.
