LFS said this was a brain frag but I am not so sure. It's starting to sprout bright pink wart looking things. It's purple/red with the pink pointers.

Chalice of some type or a really deformed rhodactis mushroom

Cool. Yeah I am thinking Chalice as well. Especially how it prongs out near the base. Just has some decent meat on it so it's throwing me off

If those "prongs" aka septa are calcerous./ hard, then its a chalice for sure. If the whole thing is soft, including the prongs, then it is a Rhodactis mushroom (disc anemone) and the prongs are just weirdly developed arcospheres

I hope you did not pay brain coral price for a mushroom. In the future, know what you are buying, don't trust that store.

Nah I paid 10 bucks. I just liked it because it was red
