What's your guys thoughts on using reef octopus 5500 DC pump for a return pump on a perfecto 180 RR tank? I like the feed mode option and other reasons

Good pump. Basically dead silent. But, it might not be enough flow. I also like the speed control and feed mode option on my Jebao.

I have both a RODC5500 and Jeabo, and the 5500 is much quieter. I'm using it as my return pump on a 240. I just supplement flow with 2 Gyre 150s.

I have this pump and love it. As was mentioned it is dead silent and doesn't put out much heat.

I have the RODC 5500 on my 230 and it is plenty of flow I run it on speed 3-4 5 is too much flow. As stated dead silent. Great pump.

Do you think I should go with the 3500 over the 5500 since you guys are running it on bigger tanks, I will be getting a gyre in the future

If money is no difference to you, then get the 5500. You can always throttle it down if it's too powerful, but I suspect on a 180 it would be fine.

I'm using the 5500 on a 65g, but I'm using as my only pump. It handles my return, UV and a manifold for GFO and carbon reactors. Even with that I only run it on speed 3 out of 5. When I used two mag pumps, I got noise and heat, now I have neither. Plus if I upgrade I will have a pump already.
