Hey guys, so I figured I'd throw a thread together to track progress of this upgrade I'm in the midst of doing. I current am running my first tank ever setup which is a 29 gallon mixed reef, running a kessil a360w, vortech MP10, with an eshopps skimmer, Refugium yada yada yada....

So I'm tired of the nano tank and just wanted bigger so I went for a 93 rimless marineland, with a 30 gallon precision marine sump/Refugium. As far as equipment, I've purchased almost everything already and here's the list
• Ecotech Radion xr30w G3 Pro (Possibly getting a second)
With a rms mount
• Ecotech vortech MP40 Quiet Drives (x2)
• Bubble king double cone 150 skimmer
• Eheim 1260 Return Pump
• Ecotech reef link controller
• Cobalt 250w heaters (x2)
• Florida Reef Rock from reef cleaners 65lbs
(Going for a more minimal aquascape this time)

In the works
• Auto top off
• GFO Reactor

So my rock will be in on Monday and I'm drilling and using fiberglass rods for a more vertical island aquascape (about three structures).

Here's a pic of what I have so far

Thanks for following , much more progress posts to come [emoji106]🏼[emoji106]🏼 And incase anyone was curious, this is a pic of my current tank

I love my 93 cube..... But I am ready for something bigger. I've had the 93 for about 8 months. I built my stand and stained it to match my living room furniture. Looks like u have the stand that comes with the 93 cube. I hope it works out, I know its tight under mine and its a 42" stand. Looking forward to seeing the progress. I think me and u have most of the same equipment

Just completely the black vinyl background on the tank , so much easier and looks a lot better than paint in my opinion 315323

Nice start! How are the silicone joints on your tank? Seems like everyone is having issues with the silicone lately. (bubbles in seams)

Haven't filled it with water yet so I'm really hoping I won't have a problem lol, but did my rock yesterday and came out with this, used fiberglass rods and epoxy. Next step, have my electrician friend create a dedicated circuit just for the tank so I don't blow a fuse with everything hooked up at once, then have my plumber friend do the pvc because I've never done that before and would rather it could out right the first time

Also put black vinyl on the backing of the tank, looks a lot better than painting imo

Looking good. Just ordered one of these , did you put foam underneath the tank?

I didn't actually, what's the reason that some do this?

Foam goes under tanks that do not have a plastic rim under them.

Love your tank, I like your equipment choices.

A lot of rimless tank manufacturers recommend putting foam underneath to support the tank. I'm not sure that Marineland recommends this though. I know that the stand that is required to use to maintain warranty is open top.......so who knows?

Is your stand solid where the tank sits? I would read the warranty contract closely.

It's not solid and its holding water fine I heard this is normal and all the support is on the perimeter.

following along since I am ordering my 93 cube this week. Drilling mine though to have a bean animal overflow.

Seeing this though makes me start to second guess how much rock I was going to order. I am going through TBS and while his rock is wet and thus weighs more I might need only the 60 gallon package.... though I guess extra rock can go into my refugium.

What do you think of your cobalt heaters? I was going to get some for my last tank and decided against them due to some reviews of them shorting out quickly after purchase.

following along. Quick question, any reason you went away from the Kessil on this build? I would have thought adding a second would be a nice coverage for a tank like this.

That aquascape reminds me of the interior of a castle. It'd be cool too see a fish that cruises around on the bottom in your aquascape.

I just wanted something with more power, but I do really miss the shimmer, I may even add a kessil along with the radion I'm not sure if this has been done yet

Thanks lol Have six fish as of now, two snowflake clowns, leopard wrasse, solar wrasse, copperband and a prawn gobie. The gobie is the newest but I assume he'll always be down there cruising around looking for a is too to pair him up with

Looks great! Let me know how the copper band works out. Thinking of adding one to my tank but worried he will nip at coral.
