Looking for a colorful tank without SPS or pest softies (GSP, Pulsing Xenia, mushrooms etc). (Had those in a previous 55 and they overtook every last square inch - so were pests to me)

What are some good softies and LPS that add lots of color but won't take over my 12 gallon long nano after I go to bed? :-)

Preferably not the mega expensive ones.

Ricordia mushrooms, blastos, blue/green sympodium, hammer and torches for movement......lots of options. Of course proper lighting, flow and water parameters need to be met

Remember euyphilla are bullies tho so one or two heads could easily render half your small tank a no coral zone..

Acans are awesome too, available in tons of different colors.

You won't have that much room so you can concentrate funds on choice pieces. Chalices are a good choice, as are select zoanthids and brains like a dragon soul favia. I wouldn't rule out SPS - lots of encrusting or branching Montipora would work. Plot out "stinging range" carefully. Maybe a choice Scoly or plate coral for the sand bed.

+1 vote for acans. Not overly light demanding and many many color options available.

Thanks and keep it coming.

How fast do acans spread?
