"No one seems to know"????!??? you posted this twice, and got at least 4 answers.

Now, not to sound harsh, but you also asked for an ID on a Duncan (that you also posted twice). Less then 2 minutes of searching google would have gotten you the answer to both these questions.

If you are going to make it in this hobby, and if your livestock is to thrive, you need to research before adding corals, and take on the responibility of at least attempting to help yourself, much more enjoyable and educational that way.

Good advise Bill. Don't take it the wrong way but learn from it. You must research anything you want to add to your tank. For that animals safety and your own tank inhabitants safety. Understandably the limpet could have been a hitch hiker but I am sure the Duncan was not. Good luck with your reef!

Thanks for the advice guys but chefbill relax a little but why dont ya...and just cuz you say not to sound harsh doesn't make it not harsh...but ill be sure to never post on here again i guess i can just go to r2r...ask a simple question and get kinda freaked out on ***....

You already had the answer. Patience is the key in this hobby, both waiting for an answer and waiting for your tank

No need to do that. We have thousands of members and most questions are answered fairly quickly.

I agree with the advice to simmer down. I've never seen one of those and didn't see the previous post. He is researching by posting a picture here. If someone doesn't want to reply just move on. Don't bring your hate to the forum and spew it on everybody.

How can you research something when you don't know what it is?

Hey bigdaddy, dont get discouraged to post hear, some are more cantankerous than others and i like the psychology on the no one seems to know what it is, most people only answer if you have pics or a wity title

I did. I tried to ID on my own. AFTER that failed, I asked. FYI still no ID on it. Certainly much less common than either a limpet or a Duncan. Apples and oranges Ken

I believe the real highlight of this thread is the use of the word cantankerous. Well done sir, well done.

No need to worry. It only took about three minutes of my time.

Actually you did get an ID. It is a pearl oyster. Look at this link and find "Family: Pteriidae (Pearl oysters)"
