Hello everyone! I just thought that I would share by current setup with everyone. I am new to the saltwater hobby, but have been doing my due diligence for sure. I am an Army pilot stationed up in the Last Frontier, frozen alaska. This hobby cost double what it should living here, but I am dedicated. No, my fish are not frozen fish sticks, but are in quarantine for a bit.

Here is my tank!

The stand is made from pallets that I took from The Sports Authority, thanks :). They are a mix of stain, paint, and natural color.

The inside has a small shelf and Eheim Easy 60 Pro filter. Ya, I know, no sump. Well, tried to save some money here, and did some research...should work lol. A sump/ refugium will be later down the road.

I'm proud of it lol.

That there is my protein skimmer, the reef octopus 1000 classic HOB. I love this. It's a must for a small samples tank like this. I also have a Vortech MP10 set on the reef default mode. Pretty awesome powerhead. Not sure if I should have only one or two though? I notice a lot of tanks have two. What do you think?

The small tank to the right is a 10 gal quarantine tank. Basic easy to clean items. Filter has carbon filter removed. I placed a filter from my DT into my QT filter for some good bacteria, and run a small pouch of zeolite (thought it would aid in ammonia reduction/ prevention). It is completely a temporary QT that will only be up while in use. I'll break it down once Quarantine is complete.

And a few snails.

And a Xenia. It's a little guy. I know they supposedly grow like weeds, but we will see. I'll maintain the best I can. I can tell it likes my tank better than Petcos :)

Thanks for looking everyone, will update later with new additions! Thanks everyone who supported me on my random help threads. Without your input I wouldn't be this far. I know it's not crazy far, but it's a good start!

Cheers!

Update added my fist fish. He is a gorgeous Clarkii Clown. He has already found a new home in an long tentacle anemone. Let me know what you think. Also, moved my Xenia to a new spot and it is thriving! Its opened up and pulsating amazingly. Caught my cleaner shrimp cleaning my Clown. Everyone is fitting right in!
