I'm looking to get 3 wave makers. for a 120 display. 48x24x24

I want to get a maxspect gyre but not sure what to get. I was thinking 2 130's

or should I get 2 150's?

I would do 2 150s and run them on a lower speed. Then you can always turn them up if needed/things start to fill in more, or even use them in a tank upgrade.

That's a tough one, I think the 3 130s would possibly be better simply because I believe the more angles you can get the better off you'll be. But 2 150s is probably pretty close. I've only seen the 150 in action so I don't know how well the 130s do, so hopefully you'll get a few more people to chime in.

(2) 130s each end on a wave maker.

I have 1 xf150 on my 48" long and it has tons of movement. I wish I could have one on each side to alternate the current. Problem is they're expensive and I can only mount the 150 horizontally on one side of my tank due to the overflow, so take that into consideration. I am however thinking of mounting a 130 on the opposite side because that would fit because the length is smaller.

Four altogether or just two total? I wouldn't do two 130s total, you would have to run the pumps harder which makes them louder and makes lifespan go down. :)

yeah and see this is why Im asking. 130 is rated for 50to100 I think. so does this mean only that powerhead counts toward the rating or any combination of that powerhead? for example does that ratings mean 3 130's would be too much since their lowest recommended rating of 50 is more than tank volume. 3x50=150

does the minimum rating of 100 for the 150 mean no more than one is recommended in a 100 gal? or can u have more than 1 as long as they are on lowest setting. I guess that would depend on the demands of your livestock right? hmm I didnt think about size tho...maybe that 150 will be to big for what I would want.
