Need some help IDing two things

I need some help IDing two things I have found in my tank. The first is a snail. This tank was started with dead rock and only a normal CUC. This snail just showed it's face this week for the first time. I think it must have been small when I ordered my CUC from RC's and they didn't notice. Now it's significantly larger than most snails in the tank. It seems to prefer the rockwork and doesn't seem to be bothering corals.

The second thing are I think are pineapple sponges. Are they ok to leave covering things in the sump? They aren't in the main tank.

The sponges won't harm anything. Filter feeders. They may however disappear after a few months.

You'll need a better picture of that snail. And I suggest posting a picture on the invert board so maybe pagojoe will see it.
