Hi all i am in my 3rd week of hypo and my copper band and chromis are getting odd bumps. the copper band from pic looks like a cut but its not. first is was red then like the skin fell apart and now its red with fluff. The chromis a few of them have white/red patches similar to copper band attached is 2 pic please help

Keep in mind i am in hypo treatment so any meds would have to go into the tank with other fish as i can't remove selective fish and raise salt...

Thanks

My guess for the copperband alone would be a bacterial infection.
But the chromis sound more like uronema marinum, especially if it is on chromis.
Since uronema usually causes secondary bacterial infections it's best to treat both.

Thanks you googling for awhile and thats about what i am thinking.

Uronema is very confusing can it infect other fish? How to treat it?

as for bacterial how could i treat while in hypo? no results with that... and I'm reading most treatments will destroy the good bacteria (filter)

I also was thinking maybe a ulcer.

is there anyway i can treat this stuff while in hypo in my dt? Its really to early to end hypo. The copper band was covered in ick 3wks ago.

Antibiotics may be more potent in the lower salinity so I would look what the recommended dosages for salt and freshwater are and calculate the dosage based on that.

Uronema is best treated with formalin dips but you shouldn't use formalin with open wounds like your fish have.
There is a good chance that Chloroquine Phosphate may work against uronema - contact alprazo (http://reefcentral.com/forums/member.php?u=46949), he is the resident expert on CP and what it treats. He may also know which antibiotic can be used in combination with it.
