Hey guys, just noticed this growing right under my birdsnest colony and above my blue sympodium. It almost looks like a mini acanthophylia/meat coral but I don't think it is. When I squirt it with a turkey baster, it does close up a bit. Has tentacles around the outer rim. Any idea what it is? Type of mushroom?

I think you're right. Nice hitchhiker. Try feeding it and see what it does.

If I wanted to relocate it, can I just cut it at the base?

I would hate to kill it. If you damage its internal skeleton structure it may die.

Can you break off some of the rock it's on?

If it's a risk, I won't do it because it seems pretty happy In that spot. I'd much rather trim my birdsnest lol. Just thought it would be cool to put it more towards the front of the tank

I could be mistaking, but the underside looked like it was attached in the fashion a mushroom would, with a soft stalk. That's why I thought it was a mushroom. Unless I missed it, there doesn't seem to be a hard stony stalk like typical LPS.

That's also why I thought I could just slice it off. I will have to have a better look when I get home later.
