Where you have one you have many.... Don't think they are beautiful

Yup. Asterina star. These things are invasive. I'd get rid of it and any other Asterina you see. Not only are they prolific, but certain species of them actually feed on zoas.

They look cute until you see one munching on your zoas.

Depends on what you keep. I have them in my lps tank and they're fine. If I had zoas, I'd have a totally different opinion. They can, however, go in a sump fuge without much chance of getting through the pump.

I've witnessed the eating zoos.

I got a piece of rock with a few different zoa colonies from a friend and I pulled probably 35-40 of these little things out out of there. I've been pretty diligent about grabbing any I see and I haven't seen any in awhile.

If you have a lot, a pair of Harlequin Shrimp will take care of em.. Awesome, interesting animals. You are stuck buying starfish for them to eat, but watching them wrest
le the thing into their cave to slowly devour it for a week or so is quite interesting

I have read a few reports of people saying they will not eat asterina stars.

Mine ate hundreds.. First morning after I put them in, all the asterinas were plastered on the glass, running for their lives. of course, YMMV!

I need those stars... If you turn the lights off on the tank for two days, you'll get a good idea of how many you have/ Scrape them all off the glass and send them to me (:My Harlequin is almost out and I really don't want to chip away at a starfish. Just seems....sad. I just posted about anyone having some to send to me
