I'm running a reefOcto, Diablo series. Its been a great skimmer. Literally "set it and forget it" dialed it in first time within minutes. Haven't touched it since. Pulls lots or nasty skimmate. Couldn't be happier. Also, runs pretty quite compared to my old Euro reef skimmer w/sedra pump

I had a Diablo for aprox 3 years. Worked great no problems. I sold it to a club member cause I bought a bigger one and he is still running it. I upgraded to a SRO5000 its a beast pulls out some nasty gunk. works great.

i have an HOB Reef Octopus and it has done well. I would consider getting an in-sump version as well.

Not bad skimmers. Are there better? Yes. Worse out there? Yes. Octos are a great budget friendly skimmer.
Ok thanks for the feedback. Anybody using the elite series?

I just purchased an elite 150 and it's the best skimmer I've had. Literally no break in. It was skimming the first day and the pump is dead silent. Can't say enough good things about it. My last skimmer was vertex 130 which was also a great skimmer, however the pump in my opinion was not correctly matched.

Have a Reef Octopus Elite 200SSS, great skimmer. The output is perfect, construction is solid and tough.

+1 here. My last skimmer was a Bubble Magus, and I thought I liked it. I bought this and other than the noise from the bubbles, you cannot tell its on.

2 reef octos older models with the Laguna pump. 1 has some frequent start up issues after I clean it, but I'm very happy with them. I'll 95% get another down the line

Took mine over a year to really fall into it's rhythm.
Has a great stable wet skim now :)
