I Had a new tank built and forgot to specify how I wanted the top bracing laid out. It's acrylic and I'm torn on how to arrange the heat sinks for my led light fixtures above the tank. Tank is a standard 4x2x2 120 gallon. The heat sinks are 18 inches long. Am I better off arranging them parallel to the front of the tank and having them sit partly above the top braces. Or am I better off arranging them perpendicular above the two openings on the end. (ignore the random dude with out his shirt on. This is the internet after all,,, that and I have no shame)

Arrange your lights to get the best, most even coverage.
Yeah, you will lose a little PAR through the acrylic but not much.
Try to keep it free of salt, that will help.

From the little bit I read it looks like I lose about 10 percent which I'm okay with I just don't want there to be a funky line in the water column from the shadow at that the brace creates

You shouldn't see any shadowing.
If you had plastic bracing, then yes you would.
