I've always loved maroon but I have reservations about adding them as I've heard they are jerks as tankmates. I have a 150 that is empty (just starting to stock) with 300 lbs of live rock. Would it be risky to add a maroon in a reef tank if, for the most part, I don't plan to buy other aggressive fishes?

its always a risk but for that size tank you could be able to pull it off

They will want to control about 50 gallons of tank space. Once they are a breeding pair, they will be highly protective of their area (towards other fish and aquarist hands)

With a pair in a giant anemone what a great display.

I don't know if I would add them first though. You may want to get some of the less aggressive fish established first before introducing the clowns.

Planning to do this. Just trying to create a stock list is all.

Pretty mean fish... two of them in a 150 will be very dominant.

Just be prepared for the worst and hope for the best :)
