I'm not sure if "dust algae" is the proper name but anyways its the algae that shows up on your glass from time to time that a standard glass cleaner cleans up.

my question- I seem to have to clean it every couple days. will GFO help with this stuff? I do not have a single spec of any other kind of nuisnace algae in my tank. my tank has a lot of sps would running GFO in my circumstance do more harm than good. I'd like to cut the glass cleaning down to once a week. I haven't checked phosphates In a long time. this isn't a big deal just curious.

also how often do you guys clean your glass?

I clean the glass every three days. Sometimes just at my weekly water change if nobody else will see the tank.

this, however the every few days back to green dust tells me my nutrients are where I want them and all is well. Tough to follow when I just let it go.
