Have a 60 cube that used a Rio 2500 as my return. Noticed last week that I was getting small shocks on papercuts. Unplugged everything and added one by one each plug. Sure enough the return pump was the culprit.

I've had no issues before with this pump.

Should I just replace or is there a better return for my system?

I just replaced a brand new Jebao 3000 by an EHeim Compact + 3000.
I have a 57 gal tank.
I was wondering when would the Jebao quit, and if that happened I would be very upset I didn't invest in a better pump.
Return pumps are the main piece of equipment in the tank, the heart of the system.

The Eheim pumps are awesome, costly but quiet and very well made.
I would look into better options since you have had issues.
Good luck

I have 3 rios, 2100, 2500, and a 3100 which is 10+ years old. I have never had an issue with any of them.
