Has anyone had success with a male watanabei from Diver's Den? I have a very small female doing well currently

From LiveAquaria instead of DD. Arrived damaged, sure it was swim bladder issue, died within two weeks.

Being such a notoriously poor shipper, I would only try a male if from DD

If it was me I'd just buy another female or two........let them sort it out on their own.

+1...as long as you don't already have a large Genicanthus angel in the tank, which can turn male and even make smaller males revert back to female colors...

I tend towards this solution as well.

I know several who have gotten males and the ones that didn't die shortly after shipping, died within a few weeks or months from Unknown causes. Get another femal like mentioned above

I have tried two male watanabeis from DD in the last three months. Both died in QT within three weeks. One damaged his mouth in transit the other looked perfect. If I try again, it will be a proven eater from a LFS.
