Hey everyone,

Recently bought a hydor ato as well as a tom aqualifter as I am going to start dosing Mrs Wages... Turns out that the aqualifter lifts the water so slow that the ato shuts off before it even makes a difference. Wondering what pumps you use to help lift the water.(roughly 48") If possible a pump similar to the toms aqua lifter. or if anyone has a solution to increase the flow. I know I can raise the ato water but would prefer it on the ground.

Any help would be awesome!

Thank you :)

For an inexpensive pump I think a MaxiJet 1200 would be fine, for a higher quality pump I like the Eheim 1250.

you have to be carefully with the Hydor ATO because it's recommend not to use a pump that pumps the water too slow or too fast. IMO, I believe the Maxijet 1200 will be to strong. I use a Hydor on my QT and I am using the Maxijet 600 at 3 1/2 feet without a problem.

Perfect! Thank you for your help! Now would it be better to have a slow drip of kalk on a timer or use an ato thats puts like a gallon of kalk in all at once?

Slow Drip to keep from cloudy water.
