So, this started about a month ago with just a little bitty dot. I thought it MIGHT be the start of Ich, but was told not to worry about it. Good water quality and a healthy diet and the fish would be fine. Which i've been told i have both covered very well. Well, more dots started showing up and now, these fish have been in quarantine for about 2-3 weeks at .35-.4 Copper level and just getting worse and worse with Cupramine. What is this, and what can i do to treat it? The water is getting foul, Nitrates 100+ppm at this point, and i can't do daily water chances. In fact, i can't even keep up with water changes i have been doing at this way as between this and my display tank i've gone through 2 buckets of salt this month which is WAYYYY outside my budget. Without Macro algae / live rock, skimmer ect to help with the nitrates... I can't keep the tank cleaned properly. I'm afraid if i don't loose the fish to this disease, i'll loose them to the water quality.

The disease started as white dots. Now, there's blotchy patches and some of it's growing on the edges of their fins which are getting ragged as well. As well, it looks lumpy, not like it's under the skin really. For some reason, the blotchy pattern isn't that obvious in the pics from what i can see, but clearly visible on the fish. I have had 4 other fish with them in quarantine and none of the other fish are affected. Just these two. The Cortez started with it, the Tang caught it after.

How are you treating them? Looks like you have live rocked on there with copper. That could explains the reason why coppers not working as its being absorbed into the rocks.

No, i moved them into the DT just long enough to take the pic (not enough light in the HT) they are back in the HT which is a 75G. All 7 fish were in the HT, but with the other 5 being fine, i moved them back to the DT to help control water quality and keep them healthy.

Well if it's ish all the fishes has it regardless use they show signs of it. either qt all or don't bother qting at all. It may take longer than two weeks in cupramine to cure ich. Don't give up you need to get through this.

I agree, but i'm not so sure it's ich. I thought that's what it was at first, but it doesn't look like the pictures of ich... It's not just the spots. It's more fuzzy, and blotchy. There are the dots and specs on the fish. You can see the blotches better on the tang, but that's what the Angel looks like as well, just isn't obvious in the pics due to lighting ect. I'm not sure why.

I'm wondering if Hexamita, Lymphocystis, velvet or a bacterial or fungal infection. I just don't know enough to ID them. If it was Freshwater i'd have a much better idea. However, salt is completely new to me.

EDIT* No chromis. Corris Wrasse, I have a red/clown corris. Got the Corris, Yellow Tang, Flame Angel, and Cortez all at the same time about a month and half ago? Maybe two?

All but the Regal and Cortez are acting 100% normal and happy and healthy. The Cortez i noticed one single dot on him when i got him. However, he'd been through over a month of quarantine and in an individuals tank that they'd had set up for years and had been in that tank for well over a month. So, effectively 2 months quarantine. So, i didn't quarantine any of them since the rest had been in there even longer than that guy.

About 2, maybe 3 weeks after the Cortez started eating voraciously. Took this as a good sign, and then he got fat. Like, i almost thought bloat fat. Still eating everything in sight. Then started flashing with a few more spots on him. I asked a few others locally and they said to keep it fed well and water clean and natural resistance would fight it off. I tried that, more spots showed up. Then the Regal started getting spots and i pulled the fish to quarantine. That was about 3 weeks ago. After i got them into quarantine i started dosing Cupramine. Because of the flame angel and cortez i was taking it slow and only doing a 3/4 dose spread over a week instead of a full dose over 2 days. So, week 1 was getting copper levels up. Week 2 everything was about the same with no difference... This past 3-4 days things have gone 100% downhill for those two. They're still in quarantine now and have the white blotchy patterns on them. Flashing much more often, in fact the Regal seems to "lurch" forward every so often. Not flashing on anything that i can see, just kind of jumping forward. They stay towards the bottom and back corner. The Cortez occasionally swims sideways, but the second i turn a light on him or put food in he straightens out and swims normally again. Both are still eating. I haven't seen any gasping
