Hey,

I have a 2000 litre system including the sump and wondering if anyone has suggestions on the easiest way to fill it for the first time? I have an RODI unit but it would take AGES to fill the tank. I live 4 hours from any major city/ocean so it's quite hard to just get the water delivered without costing thousands of dollars.

Any opinions?

Start filling up large drums with water from your rodi unit then pump into your system. 32 gal Rubbermaid Brute containers are good and cheap. You can even buy some on rollers

Run the ro/di line in the tank , and now would be a perfect time to start learning patience..lol

Oh believe me patience isn't my problem, this tank has been idle for 3 years. I'm asking for alternative suggestions as it's in my parents house and for some reason they aren't keen on me "making all that water" but if it's the consensus that everyone fills large tanks with their unit then i'll have to talk them into it.

I ran the line from my ro unit about 20 feet to my 120 gal. tank. it took two days to fill but that's better than lifting buckets.

I did the same in my 180 gallon tank, it took two days but it worked great.

My RO line is too short and the way it drips out I wonder if there would be enough pressure to push the water along and up into my 6' high tank

Well that doesn't sound right? What kind of pressure do you have?

you can get the RO tubing at any hardware store. my pressure is only about 50 and I had no trouble.

Yeah, I have my RO plumbed to a container that goes all the way up to the ceiling 8' then another 4-5' laterally. There should be plenty of pressure to go up 6' or something is wrong.

uuummmm something is wrong if it is just dripping out. You can go to any hardware store and run 50 feet of tubing right into the tank and let it run for a few days. Just make sure to back flush every 6-8 hours
