Oil Absorbing Material - for - skimmerless/sumpless/fuge/ess

Hi all,

A lot of folks seem to be trying to simplify the reef/fowlr hobby by going skimmerless/sumpless/fuge-less.

Q) Does an oil absorbing material exist that can be used for removing oily surfacants?

I use a small glass. Partially submerge it at an angle so that only a small portion of the rim is under water. The surface scum will flow into the glass. Repeat as often as necessary. On my 3g Pico it also served as my water change.
