Hello everyone,

Over the last few days i have noticed my clam has not been opening up as much. today i noticed a whitish spot in the middle of the clam. it almost looks like a spiderweb. I have had this clam for many years and have never had a problem with it. It has been in the same tank and location for 2 years now, and had it in a previous tank for a few years as well. i have tried searching for what this could be but any help on identifying what is is and how to fix it will be greatly appreciated. in the mean time i will continue trying to figure out what it is as well as some water changes.

I should also note that i just recently added 2 neon gobies to the tank a few weeks ago and they rest right where the whitish spot is. could this be the cause of the color fading?

I would expect so. I'd be careful so the maxima doesn't come down with PM from the stress.
