Does anyone know where i can purchase 1/2 clear aquarium screen/netting? I need to build a new screen and 1/4 is no longer necessary. I know BRS used to carry it but it looks like its no longer offered.

Some garden centers carry it as bird netting, otherwise I'd just use BRS's ¼" netting

I currently have 1/4...works great but I want to let a little more light in, an my wrasses are large now.

Do you really think its blocking that much light? I have 1/4" over my tank and have no problem growing sps, clams, etc. Can you increase the power of your lights (LEDs) or are you using t5 or MH? Perhaps e-mail BRS and ask if they can special order or their previous source? Still doesn't seem like a necessity to me.

While it may not block all that much light, I stopped using the clear 1/4 netting because it was reflecting too much back up onto my ceiling - which I found objectionable. I now use the black 1/2" bird netting; much better. I bought a roll of it many years ago from gardeners supply.

I have some 1/4 INCH Fish net stockings... Fishing supply places sell large fish nets that may be big enough to rework

A few days ago I took my 1/4 screen off for half the day...the clarity in the water, shimmer effect and coloration was noticeable to my eye. I run hydra 52s on my rimless. I thought about going with black netting, thought the color would absorb the light.

tagging along, looking for the same thing as just noticed that BRS doesn't have it anymore. and yes, it makes that much difference. with 2 radion gen2 pro over a 120 (48*24), I have to lower my power by 8-10% when I take the top of for extended period otherwise top coral tend to react badly ( read a lot of in and out of the tank fraging, yeah playing with fire I know ) running at 65% with the top on and wide tir lens. I would be curious to try some 1/2 to see the difference.

This is the stuff I use ......

Small fish WILL find their way through it, but if your fish are bigger this is my preferred approach. And as an added bonus, I've not had a single bird in my tank!!

Yeah it's the same thing store have around here but I was trying to find the clear one. Considering there's is less than half of the material in the way, might try it anyway just to see the impact it as on light.

Tank habitant are all lager fish now so it not something I worry to much about.

It's negligible. Personally, I prefer the black to the clear as it absorbs rather than reflects what tiny percentage of the light it blocks.
