I have a Scopas tang in QT and it is showing signs of what I think is some type of bacterial infection. The fins are becoming transparent on the edges and a red irritated section is developing on his tail. Anyone have any thoughts on what they think it is. He is eating, swimming around normally and his fins are being held open.

Thats not good that is a very advanced infection and by the time it gets like that a lot of the times you lose the fish. Go to a lfs and get some antibiotics asap

^ Agree.

Kanamycin (SeaChem Kanaplex) or Nitrofurozone (Furan-2) are good broad-spectrum antibiotics.

I have started to treat it with Kanaplex. I will monitor and see how he goes.

Looks like a nice fish. I am hoping for the best with both of you. Good Luck!
