So I bought an EcoPlus 1/4 HP chiller off craigslist and surprise it doesn't seem to be chilling the water at all. It works and the compressor kicks on but water temps aren't going down at all.

Has anyone ever added freon to a chiller? I didn't know if this is easy to do or if it is a lost cause at this point???

Any advise is appreciated.

Thanks,
Ryan

You have to know what kind of refrigerant is in the unit..... If you put the wrong kind in, you can burn the compressor up.

But, yes, I have added it to them.

from what I understand it is r410a refrigerant. Now is there a standard recharge kit that can be purchased to do this or do I need a professional grade recharge kit?

Depends, does it have service ports?
