Reef Brite Digitally Controlled Self Diagnostic Solid State Metal Halide Ballast:

Was wondering if anyone has or used one of these ballasts. Are they any good, are they m81 and do they make any noise.

Does anyone have any info of quiet ballasts.

Right now I have an aquaticlife r7s hid fixture and the electronic ballast hums and buzzes very loud. Im looking to replace both of these ballasts with quiet ones and the reefbrite digital/electronic seem to fit the bill quite nicely with the 1.5amp input current and made for 150w.

I don't own then so I can't say they are good or bad.

But definately not m81 or m80. Those are magnetic ballast.

Thus is an electronic ballast sir.

If you want m81 Google hamilton technology, they make some fine magnetic ballasts.
