So i acquired a Thompsons tang about a month ago. He is about 7 inches long right now.

It is the only tang i have ever had that ignored the nori entirely, and never pics at rockwork/glass at all.

He does however go berserk for my home made frozen meaty mix. He is the most aggressive feeding tang i have ever owned.

I know they are Planktivores, but i was wondering if anyone has ever had any luck getting them to eat Nori?

He is fat and healthy right now, so im not really worried about it not eating nori, i was just wondering if this is common.

I would love to hear about anyones experiences with this fish. There doesnt seem to be a whole lot of discussion about them on the net, and almost every thread i found about them was several years old.

Seems like their natural diet is more meaty. Have you tried soaking the Nori in Selcon?

Anyone else have one of these? How long have you had it? Care to share any unique experiences or observations about the fish? Not a lot of info out there.

Here you can see Mr. Thompson (yes thats his/her name) just in front of my foxface. This fish has quickly become my favorite fish i have ever owned. Please excuse the tank condition. It is a fairly fresh upgrade and i used my own man made rock for over 50% of the rockwork, so i am having a bit of a cyano/algae out break at the moment.

Would love to hear from other that own one or have owned one in the past.

Thanks!
