Hi everyone,

I purchased a Ultra Grade Maxima clam at my LFS yesterday. I placed it high on the center right side of my tank. It stayed in the same spot for about 24 hours and then detached and dropped itself into the sand below. Where should I try to place him in the tank? I have a 95 gallon wave tank with 2 MP10's on the right and a Gyre on the left hand of the tank. My lighting is from a 48" Reefkeeper LED setup, but the lights are only setup for maximum of 30% Blues and 25% white light because I have a bunch of LPS and chalices. Here are some pics and any suggestions would be appreciated. Right now he's just sitting in the sand, until I figure out how and where to place him. Sorry about the blurry cell phone pics. Thanks!!

I'd let em attach to some rubble and keep him on the sand bed.

Thanks, I will put a couple of piece of rubble underneath it for him to attach too.

Would you recommend to increase the lighting at all, since they're running at a maximum of 30% and 25% white light? I have some Rose Bubble tip anemones and they're at the top of the tank.

He's was laying on it's side about an hour or so ago after falling off the rock. How much should it open and what signs of stress should I be looking for? Here's a pic I just took of it.

I have a 120 with the same photon I'm at 40 b and 25 w for a max, and my maxima is on the sand and happy. When I first got mine it looked just like that till I got a rock under it so it could attach.

I have two maximas a ultra gold and an ultra grade blue. It took about a week for each of them to settle In to my tank and be happy. Just put them on a rock amd let them go. If they like that spot they will attach themselves. If not they will move by blowing water out there mouth. Just try spots until he stays. Might take a little while. Good luck with you new addition. I love these little guys. They only stay little for so long
