I went to petco and bought a 24" (the right size that will fit my tank, the same size as the other light) T5 24watt blue light 420nm and for some reason it did not fit! So I am going to take back and I might just stick with the light I already had. Is it fine for a more softie dominant tank with maybe a few sps (maybe if I put them at the very very top)? My tank is about 19" tall and my water is crystal clear (although there is nothing in the tank except live rock and sand for now). I have a 50 gallon marineland penguin 280 bio wheel filter with activated carbon, a protein skimmer that goes up to 100 gallons, and good circulation. Thank you! :)

You will definitely not have enough light for SPS corals, just barely enough to keep soft corals.

T5s won't fit in my hood so what do you suggest?

He's suggesting that you upgrade your lights if you wish to keep corals.

Next time I'm ready for bulbs for my T5 I'll be buying one of these
