my tanks been growing this stuff lately and i can't seem to keep it control. Check phosphate and it's not very high. Is there anything people can suggest in ridding this crap. I have tried Fauna Marine Dino-X it doesn't seem to be working on this algae.

It's sounds like it might be Green Turf Algae. Is it somewhat firm, or does it move with the current?

Hi. First post here. Not sure what kind of algae you have but I have to share a tip that may help. Firstly, as always, we should be concerned about what caused the algae. Wanted to save anyone else from having to say that. So my tip is this.....I got a little fed up with my pretty little lazy red leg reef dwarf hermits moving about two inches a week and doing nothing for my small algae problem. I have GHA that is maybe 1/3 inch long. So I physically picked up each one.....four of them...and put one on each problem rock. I have seen an improvement over the last few days. Apparently they will eat, at least my kind of GHA, if I drop them onto the problem. So if you have any such alleged algae eaters...give them a little guidance. Worth a try. Cheap, easy, no chems.

When you phosphate is not very high .. what is that in relation to 0 and High...being off the chart...

You should post some images of the tank. To insure a proper identification of the algae with some tank specs. and OF Course test results....and what lives in the tank

Why don't you just pull it? It looks like it can be removed easily. The green tint of the sand and rocks is the start of it. Use a turkey baster to blast it off the rocks and sand.

Invest in an ATS (algae turf scrubber) to remove excess nutrients naturally.

Hey Scuzy,

Anything improve with the Dino-X? My Bryopsis is getting out of control so I picked up a bottle. I'm planning to start dosing after my water change this weekend to see what happens. How many doses in a row have you done?

If it didn't work, have you tried a Sea Hare?

Dino-x don't work it only works on dinoflagellates. Try using tech-m and it's working slowly dying off. Do a search on tech-m and bryopsis.

Well that sucks. I read about Tech-M and that treatment has mixed reviews. I may have to try that if I get to that point.
