Considering setting up my 300 gallon acrylic tank as FOWLR..
Want to hear from fellow acrylic SW tank people.
Tank is 96" x 30" 24" (LxWxH)
What are the draw backs, I know keeping acrylic clean without scratching is a pain, but being FOWLR I'll try and keep the lights down as well as algae.
I do have a UV filter I can hook up, would that help keep the algae on the tank to a minimum?

What are your suggestions and recommendations?

Another question, this tank is currently drilled only in the top to allow for canister filters, if I do go SW I'll be adding an overflow box.

Placement on that, is it better to have it on the back center or on one of the sides? Most of the filtration will be on one side of the tank so I am leaning towards having the overflow box on the side of the tank.

What do you think?

Acrylic is easy to drill. I've done glass (my neighbor has that tank now) and acrylic. Don't have to use diamond grit hole saws. I have an acrylic version of a mag-float which works great and does not scratch. All the scratches on my tank are from me trying to fit the tank into the back of my truck. I don't have coralline growing on the walls yet though, just on the rocks.
