Ok so I had a 20long in my kitchen, and I didnt like it after a while. Downgraded, and this fits so much better in the kitchen.

13 gallon mr aqua
115 nano skimmer - getting replaced
hob refugium, with finnex leds
Mr60 leds
hydor nano circulation pump
ict
Leds are installed under cabinet. Was a pain, but worth it.

Warning!! Picture heavy, and shot with a cell phone.

So Im running a refugium on the bowfront, and it works great. I cant decide on whether or not to get a skimmer or hob filter. I have a skimmer running right now, but it sucks. Gonna trash it!

What do yall think skimmer or hob filter, or both?

Hi andrewq,
I think you tank looks great. If I were up I would go with a new skimmer.

Not sure why you think the 115 skimmer sucks? Many of us nano guys/gals(just found out we have a prolific woman population on here) use the 115 skimmer with great results, but to each their own. If it were me, I would not run a salt tank without a skimmer. HOB filter will not give you the nutrient export you get from a skimmer.

Tanks look great by the way.

The skimmer was working properly for about 3 weeks. Then all of a sudden the skim cup would fill up with water really quick. I tried adjusting it, and no matter what i did the rate at which the cup would fill up wouldnt change. So I took apart skimmer, made sure everything was working properly. Set it back up, and still same issue. So not sure what the issue is, but im gonna try and fix it again today.

Thanks for the response

Im happy with my 6 gallon fluval edge. Just need some more corals, and different colors. I actually rescaped the 13 gallon. I didnt like it, and the big plateau looking piece just took up to much space. Also after doing some research on scapes. I noticed alot of people would leave some empty space, and not fill up the tank with rocks. I have a new cleaner crew coming in today, and will take some new pictures.

Havent updated this thread in a while. I have alot more corals now, and lights got upgrade to current usa orbit leds.

I cant decide if theres to many corals in the tank. Or if I need to scape better??? Opinions appreciated. Thanks for looking.

Enjoy my cell phone pictures!

Wow you have a lot of coral for that size tank. From my experience the LPS and leather are to close together stinging each other. This will eventually cause water quality issues. How often do you do water changes? Your tank looked really cool in the beginning and still does. But I would start fraging, rearranging corals soon.

I was actually going to move the leather to my other tank. I dosent look like it belongs. I do water changes once every week and a half. I also dose with KENTs.

Im also planning on getting another tank. Probably not for a couple months. Birthdays in November! I really like the bowfront tanks, and want to get a 40 or 60 gallon bowfront. So some corals will get moved to the large tank eventually

This tank looks awesome. I love how you have the flat pieces of rock in the 13.

Thanks! That large flat piece was a little to big for the tank. Its about the size of a dinner plate. Its an awesome piece, and im saving it for my bigger tank. I was thinking of using silicone to attach it to a wall on my larger tank.
