kalk paste won't dissolve

I put some kalk paste on a little colony of pest anemones that popped up as my rock is curing. After a week, the kalk is still there. Just seems odd. The alkalinity is stable at around 8 KH. Pesty anemones are gone though :)

it won't dissolve. kalk paste becomes very hard after a while.

I have did the same thing about 2 months back and its still there.
