Hey guys a couple days ago I set up my 55 gal tank and some water evaporated as you know and left salt residue towards the top of the tank. What do I do? Mix it back in with water or scrape it out. Thanks

You will get some salt creep - you need to top your water off with RODI water (no salt in it) to match the amount that is evaporating to keep the salinity at a stable level. If you don't invest in an ATO (auto top off) system ($100 Bucks for a good one) then you should try to top off your tank everyday. Just mark it somehow so you know how high to fill it.

Refill the tank with RO/DI water, and that salt will mix back in. You should be topping off the tank daily, or several times a day depending on how much you evaporate. Remember, water evaporates, salt doesn't.

The OP just said he does not have a RODI system.
I'd top it off with treated water and get a RODI system when you can

Try your local LFS a lot of them will sell RO/DI water. Bring in some buckets and fill them up.
I get mine mostly around my sump and just knock it back into the sump. Around my DT I will usually use a damp paper towel or sponge around the rim. Good luck
