I searched for this topic within the forum and didn't find anything ...
Have any of you have had struggles with clay pots making your water more acidic? And have you had similar problems with ceramic tiles? I know most of you now are working with pvc pipes.... I' vet thought of using those but they're just not that attractive to look at unfortunately[emoji17]

Thank you

This topic hasn't raised many eyebrows [emoji57] but for those who may encounter similar problems in the future I've found mostly information on horticulture forums. When it is called to use clay beads with particular plant specimens they recommend to make sure your beads are inert or have a stable ph.
Then I looked into it and apparently unglazed clay can lower ph depending on the composition of the clay it was made from. Something about free ions , anions and cations.
Therefore before using a clay pot as a breeding site you may want to soak it in a bucket and test ph on what it does.
