I'm wondering if they know the mermaids are performing the "forbidden dance"!!!

Saw that listing awhile back. My wife would have a heart attack if I even brought the idea up.

My wife loves the tank and is very supportive, but I have a request in for a bigger tank and so far there has not been any approval. I have discussed with the administrator (wife) that if desires are currently curbed it could cause an overreaction if/when we build a new house. Currently I am designing the tank maintenance room in my head lol. :spin2:

waaay overpriced. Everyone thinks their system retains so much value, when most would just rather buy new than used at almost new prices. Nice tank however!

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say no one buys it.

900 gallons = 4 tons of water weight. Not sure if "regular" floors would be rated for that

Or more (900 gallons * 8+ lbs per gallon plus furniture). I had to reinforce my floors. IMO, the item is way over priced despite being pretty. The other "problem" is that very tall tanks are a real PITA to maintain.

I personally don't think it is pretty. Too ornate for my taste. Takes away from the beauty of the tank itself.

+1 the tank dimensions are crap IMO.

A bit gaudy for my taste but that's the kind of stuff that makes me money!
My first thought is that belongs in Vegas, second thought for that price maybe I should be building cabinets in Vegas!

I Would totally agree with this..... You can almost build a small house for that price..
When the stand is so busy that the tank sits in the background the stand is OVER BUILT For the tank...

Agree, when I did my octo canopy that was a concern at first, I wanted glass to be amethyst otiginally, but decided that was too close to tank color, so went amber so your eye goes to brightest light first, then the picture frame/cabinet.

I first saw that tank on Craigslist. It's south of me down in Fort Myers or something. That's a lot of money to put into a hobby and then change your mind tho..

Honestly doubt the owner has anything to do with the tank other than it being an expensive piece of furniture. Who knows, maybe I'm way off base here.

That sump though....

I have a 35,000+ pool and the pool equipment isn't half that big or complex.

Selling it for $38,000? Wonder what Wayde and Brett charged him? $50k? $75k?

I was kind of thinking the same thing, also that tank seems way out of place in a room with a ceiling that low...

Would you need a personal fish/coral shopper for these vegas tanks?

Yeah, but can your pool grow coral? :spin1:

No. My pool doesn't even grow algae. My pool guy sees to that!

Well that would be a given, that and a tank manager that shops for and decides the menu for my fishies 3 daily meals, and plenty of grey poupon of course...:crazy1:

It says over $80k invested so I'm sure they were somewhere around there.

It's at least nice to see an ATM tank that isn't leaking or completely nuked... although no up close tank shots.. I would assume that's a lot of fake rock and inserts, and I would bet half that asking price that any fish they dropped in (if it's anything like their tv show) died within the first month.

The sump setup is gorgeous however. What an amazing setup.. I can do without that tank and stand.. I would kill to have that filtration system though.

Well, if they're extremely lucky they might be able to get 1/2 of their asking price. This sort of set-up would be appropriate in the lobby of a fancy hotel, if you ask me...
