I'm getting tired of using RODI in the bathroom where my waste water goes down the sink and want to set up a water station in the garage...the question I have is...where do you guys route the waste water?

I run a line to my front yard and water my palm trees with it. Little hole in the wall.

Mine's not in my garage, but in my basement and goes down the drain near the furnace. In a garage, just as karim suggested, out a hole unless you have a drain.

I run mine out the washing machine drain in the basement.

I got tired of wasting water too. My RODI system is setup in my garage. I ran some ¼” tubing to a big tree in the front that could handle the extra water it will be getting. I picked up a couple half-circle-pray drip irrigation stakes. With the volume of water that comes out you can only run one at a time. I have been running this way for over a year with no problems. http://

I had a utility sink installed in my garage (good for cleaning skimmer and rinsing carbon etc to). RODI is mounted above the sink...waste water goes down the drain.
I'm getting a drain and RO line tied directly to my new tank build this time around....no more buckets.

They sell booster pumps that route the waste water back into the system , No water is wasted but you kill the membrane quicker

I run mine to a cistern and then use it to do laundry. Consider that I have 4 tanks and I'm in SW Florida so I have fairly high evaporation and top off needs. Lots of RO/DI water and lots of reject water.

I make my water in the laundry room, where the waste water goes to the washing machine drain. If you are on a sewer the water is not wasted. It will be reprocessed and used again.

I just use the Bulk Reef Supply Universal water saver unit. Two RO membranes.
BRS claims it uses half the water and doubles the life of the media....

Mine runs down some rain gutter drains that are buried and end somewhere in the front lawn.

I have 2 storage containers behind my garage that I use for water in case of some sort of natural disaster and to water my plants.

I'm thinking about routing the waste water to my swimming pool during the summer, hot tub during the winter. We're constantly needing to add water, this won't be enough to eliminate that, but it'd keep from wasting it. If I didn't have to run the waste pipe across a concrete patio, it'd be done by now, just not sure how I'm going to do it without creating an eyesore.

I have mine sitting under the sink in the powder room and drilled a hole in the wall to feed the water station in the garage. I didn't install the RODI unit in the garage due to cold in the winter and heat in the summer.

My water station is in the garage. I installed a utility sink. Wast water goes down the drain. There is no easy way to rout the waste water. I'd have to go through the concrete foundation, under crawl space, throw the concrete foundation again, then the the lawn....I am not doing that. I had more than my share of time under the house.

I have two 44 gal Rubbermaid Tuff garbage containers just outside my garage that my RO waste water goes into. Once these garbage containers are full, I then use my sump pump with my hose attached, to water the lawn and flowers or even flush the toilet for #1.
Since I live in California, which water is so precious and hard to by right now my wife and I save every drop we can.
Since we use environmentally safe laundry detergent, we also use the rinse water from the washing machine to water the plants and lawn. When we replace the dogs water bowl water, we also save this water to use in the garden.
Thanks,
Randy

At least for me, it would be tuff due to the volume of #2:eek:
