Hi,
Can anyone tell me what's the longest that you've have kept a fairy wrasse? and what kind. I'm planning to add more expensive wrasse to the aquarium but don't want to invest the money if they will only last 2-3 years.

Expected lifespan given good husbandry should be around 5 years.

Anywhere between 3-7yrs depending on maturity when collected.

I've never kept one more than 5yrs-most of mine have been 3-4 so I stopped keeping them.

Mine made it 3 years before dying while someone caring for my tanks while I was on vacation didn't care for them very well

How about Halichoeres wrasses? (chrysus, chrysoataenia)

Halichoeres wrasses should have a slightly longer lifespan, they should make it to the 7-10yr range.

I agree. Obviously the gorgeous supermales would be on the lower end of the range.

And of course, this all depends on the assumption that you can keep them from jumping.

They will jump. But you can keep them in. :twitch:
