I'm upgrading my tank, and I'm thinking about putting the sump in my utility room in the basement instead of under the tank this time. It's just on the other side of a wall, so the sump will only be a foot away at most. I've got a few questions for those of you that have done this.
How do you route your drains and returns through the wall? Do you create one large opening and send all the pipes through the same one or do you have a few different openings and split the pipes between them? Do they sell decent sized grommets that can clean up the wall openings?
I won't be able to secure any of the pipes under the tank. How do you manage to redistribute the weight of the pipes from the tank? I'm assuming you build a frame of some sorts, I'm just not positive on how to go about doing that.
I've searched through lots of build threads, but those bits don't seem to get covered much if it all.
