Im starting to make a list of all the equipment for my upcoming build. The tank will be either a 120g 48x24x24 or 150g 48x24x28. I plan on using the Hamilton Cebu sun fixture for lighting but cant decide if I should go with the 36" or 48" fixture. I was worried the 48" would be too bright on the ends and/or create too much light spill into the room.

I have the 48 over a 48 inch tank. The bulbs sit up high in the fairly deep fixture, so as long as the fixture itself is not up too high over the tank light spill is minimal. I use the legs. The intensity of the halides is strong, but you don't need to run them for long periods to reap the benefits. I go with 5 hrs on them and use the supplements the rest of the day. Just see what your corals like and adjust accordingly.

Good luck, its a great fixture.
