The tabs that hold the collection cup on were chipped off in shipping. The cup does not seal now and leaks badly. Wondering if any of you have ever fixed a skimmer with this problem?

It's a shame the seller didn't know how to properly pack a skimmer. I'd send it back or ask for a refund. If he's reputable, he will make good on it. If not, file a paypal or credit card dispute. I'd be skeptical that glue will hold that together well given the pressure on the neck seal. Since that piece is likely CNC'd, you would be hard pressed to get a new one made. You might contact JNS and see what a new body will cost but I suspect it will be more cost than it's worth. Heck, maybe they would sell you the neck piece and you could have an acrylics shop cut the old one off and glue the new one in place.

Did they ship the skimmer with the cup attached to the body?

You could glue the pieces back in then add another layer, cut to the same shape, glued on top to strengthen it.
But you would need to check if there would be enough space under the cup for that extra layer.

The cup was not attached though it was sitting in the bow right next to it. Not enough bubble wrap I guess.

Have you contacted the seller?

Yes I did, he offered a partial refund if I thought I could fix it. Trying to decide if i could fix it or if it just needs to go back. If I cant fix this then I will need to downgrade to a bubble magus curve 7.

How was it shipped? Was the shipment insured? Always get insurance when not dealing with a known reputable dealer.

First if you have all the pieces Weld on will hold it IF ITS Acrylic..

But if he shipped it properly it would not be broken.Since you are here asking about repairing it . I would assume its above you skill level .
If it were mine and i BROKE IT.. I Could use a Router table and Build a new piece of Acrylic to repair it...

So short version.. Do not accept a Partial refund Send it back for replacement unless you know someone local who is Qualified to repair it properly.

Its kinda about cost and time of repair vs Price and Refund offered........

Good Luck

Weld in 4 that bad boy and take a partial refund is what I'd do.

I would opt for a refund.
I would not trust it long term.
