What happens if a coral dies in the tank? If I'm going to try to keep an anemone and tang which both supposedly kill corals on occasion, I was wondering what the practice is for removing them. Do you just let the clean up crew eat it or do you have to remove it? I'm just going to keep soft weedlike corals like xenia and zoanthids because I'm new if that matters. I'm assuming you run carbon once it dies since chemical release, but not sure what to do from there.

I wouldn't worry too much about it unless you have some huge colony melt away over night. Then it is water change and carbon time.
