So my overflow gurgles really loud, as you see from the picture i put a adapter on top. Originally the adapter was meant to convert my slip pipe to my threaded screen. My threaded screen ended up making it 10x louder, so i took it off. Then i was left with the slip pipe and the adapter and i took the adapter off. The bare pipe ended up being louder than the adapter, so i put the adapter back on and now im left with that. So as you see in the picture with the airline tubing, i was wondering if i drilled a whole there and then put the airline in and sealed it with glue or scilicone, would it be quieter? Or do you guys have any other suggestions? thanks so much any help would be appreciated.

I'm not an expert, but I think the problem is your overflow is taking on air at two places instead of at the same time it takes on water. If bet the noise is coming from the standpipe in the tank. (I've never seen an overflow configured like yours.). I'd try to close off the air inlet at the elbow outside the tank, add a T and an elbow to the top of your standpipe, cap it, and drill a hole in the cap. Continue to make the hole a little bigger until the flush effect stops and it gets quiet. You shouldn't need to glue the T, cap, or elbow.

Yep... welcome to the "I'm new to this hobby and my overflow is an inferior design and just plain sucks so I got the gurgle blues"

2 methods you can try to reduce it
#1-reduce flow
#2-google image search "durso standpipe"

and so you can learn for next time.. :)
