I have a reefbreeders 48 with two btas, one green and one rose. I have also nuked to small zoanthid frags and the green bta is bleaching a little with the fixture. The gbta hase not moved but has turn a lighter shade of green. The rbta is doing well under the light. What is the recommended max power settings and how long for a bta and zoa only tank? I have a 120 gallon 4 foot tank.

What power levels are you using now?

If the fixture is new, I'd recommend you start at 50% blue and 20% or 30% white. Then every week bump it up about 5% on each channel. Setting a max number is hard because it depends on so many variables. I run my IT2080 fixtures (the same as your Photon 48 only in 32" rather than 48") at 90% blue and 40% white for 3 hours with a 5 hour sunrise and a 6 hour sunset. That's over an sps mixed reef.

After a month of ramping up the power, I run both the 32" and 48" at 100% for three hours, over my two tanks. I have only bleached one Acan, which I placed too high when I first got the lights.

Right now I have it set to blue 70 and white 55. It ramps up and back down per the reefbreeders schedule I found with 30 minute intervals. This unit replaced a kessil a150w that the anenome was parked about 23" under.

This is fairly new and I've just finished fragging a lot of bigger corals down so they can grow and not run into each other.

This is what it looked like 5 years ago as I was just getting it set up. It had 1000w of MH and 160w of t5 and no canopy.

I run mine at 50% and max it there, it's plenty of PAR for the SPS and BTA, still overpowers any zoas on the top half of my tank.

I run a very similar fixture at 70% blue and 40% white on a 20" deep tank. Zoas and anemonees galore.
