I have a some macro that I would like to trim back that came in on some live rock.

This is red dragon's breath, red bush algae (Scinaia?) and some red grape

Is it best to just prune it back, maybe cut half of it? Or is it better to prune it @ the base?

I just don't want to get in there and hack away!

Thanks in advance for the advice

I have dragon's breath and red grape and I just snip them where I want to cut them off. They do fine like that. I am not familiar with red bush so not sure about that.
