I see 400g to 900g owners here so I'm not sure if this is where I should be posting.

I think it's anything over 180 is considered large.

If you go back up the menues one level to the Special Interests Group (http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=82) you will see in small print (it's always in the small print):

"A forum for people interested in keeping large reef tanks. This forum is dedicated to water volumes of 180 gallons and larger."

IMHO you should read that as "Display Tank = 180 gallons", not display tank plus sump plus this plus that etc.

The bigger the sump (filter) the better the health of the system. I have a small front room, so was limited. The fish room is where the magic happens. :)
