Hi
I have a few pieces of dry rock that have browned . What process of cleaning and whitening would everyone recommend.
Thanks

What do you mean browned? Did you just buy the pieces and they came brown and need cleaning, or have they turned colors in your tank? If its new stuff you want to clean, bleach will do it or vinegar. Then dry it in the sun. Never ever boil it. If its rock that you put in your tank white but it has changed colors, I would just leave it alone unless its something nasty that your tank picked up somewhere.

People used to love the look of shiny white rock and would take rock out of their tank once a month to bleach it, but we have since learned that all sorts of good bacteria and things live on rock that has been in your tank.

Dry rock becoming live rock is a good thing :)

I took some excess rock out of my tank a while back and left in the sun all summer, turning occasionally--looks as white as when I put it in the tank new. The refugium pieces had all kinds of feather dusters and algae on them as well when removed.
