Fluval 6 gallon edge. Everything in the tank except for the LR is caught right off my dock. Thought it would be an interesting thing to have and so far it has worked out great. I have to blennys that have been in it for coming up on a month, a gobi and the other night I added a pipe fish I caught.

I have a power filter running with ceramic rings piled up in it and a few pieces of LR, and some added carbon.

I do water changes 40% every 6-7 days. Water levels stay pretty even and has been real easy to keep up.

Thanks! Theres some pretty cool fish in the waters around here so I thought it would be neat to add a few to a tank. The tank has been set up for about a month and a half and havent lost a fish yet

Just added 3 green porcelain crabs, four snails and a water change. Would take a picture of the crabs but they've taken refuge in the live rock

Ok so the porcelain crabs died, someone told me that if the water is too clean they wont survive. Keep in mind they came out ocean eater which makes a little sense to me but want to know if thats accurate? Everything else is still thriving and looking well. The green star polyps are also growing and spreading fast. They have been in for about 3 and a half weeks now.

You tank looks very clean and new. Did you feed them directly? Could be that they starved? Since they are filter feeders normally it's recommended you add porcelain crabs a bit later after the tank is more established.
I had one that I would feed directly. Went on vacation , told my family to feed my fish , forgot to tell them about directly feeding my porcelain and came back he was no where to be found.

Where are you located if I may ask?

Im in south georgia on the coast, my tank has only been up and running for near of three months now. I have another crab in here and he is doing fine and has been for quite some time now. But I like to keep my water clean as much as I can. My snails are doing good though so im confused. I feed them once a day with brine shrimp (fish) and thats about it.

328857 polyps are doing well. I sat them on the rock directly under the pump return flow

They have been in for almost a month now. Were much smaller when I put them in.

One porcelain crab remains from the three I put in. Just figured since I havent seen the third that he died. But I saw him today on the LR doing his Bruce lee ninja chops.

Let it go for two weeks, which with three gallons of water I like to keep it at a week.

How are you catching everything, net?

Yeah a net, but im only keeping it at the three fish I have total. The two blennys are at the point where I can take dried food and they will come to the top and take it out of my hand. The pipefish eats live brine shrimp. But the water conditions in the tank have been very stable and they all seem to be doing great and very lively. Thats all the fish I plan on having in that tank.

You might want to move that GSP off your rockwork. Given the right water, it will cover your rocks in months. I have mine in the sandbed at the back of the tank. In only a few short weeks it's already creeped up the back wall a couple inches. There is a reason why its often called a nuisance coral, once the mat attaches to rock, its nearly impossible to get off.

I had it in the sandbed at first, but for completely different water than what its used to reasons I put it on top of that live rock under the return flow so it would have some current moving it (I dont know why that really crossed my mind but it seemed like something that should be done, so with that on my mind I placed it there) and yes, in the four short weeks ive had it there its already grown rather quickly and also attached to the rock at the back right corner of the frag, attached quite well at that.

And my other star got two of his legs yanked off. Saw the crab chewing it down. Made me mad so needless to say, on my way to work this morning he made it back home.

Coralline or Cyano. I would suggest it is probably coralline. try to scrub it off with a toothbrush. There's your answer.

+1 I'm leaning more towards cyano though. Can you get a closer pic?

329619329620 went with a three gallon. Has 3 stage filtration in the back. Also went with mix yourself water instead of dipping it out the ocean. And the rings and bio balls are new so im going to let this cycle now. All the other sand and live rock are in a bucket with a powerhead until I figure something else out. Wanting to do a reef tank with this. Hope you guys like.
