So my new light arrived today. It's a Cebu Sun 2 x 250w 4 x 39w T5 with M80 ballasts and Radiums.

Ordered it last Sunday on Hamilton's Labor Day sale. Seeing that it was shipping across the country I don't think that's too bad.

Light came packaged really (really) well with no damage or broken bulbs.

This thing is a beast. It's bigger than I expected it to be though I really should have expected it. It's heavy and it's solid. Really happy with the quality.

I'm replacing two AI nanos with this thing..... So it's going to be a little more light.

I will be using an armature made from 80/20 aluminum mounted to my stand, which is how I have the LEDs mounted. I can't wait to get this thing over the tank.

What size tank are you running it on?

I just got the same fixture but with one 250w MH to go above my new cad lights 70g. I'm also replacing an LED, but mine is a radion above my 22g ADA.

It's an innovative marine SR-60

My original answer was likely not overly helpful. The tank's overall dimensions are 36” x 24” x 16” however since it's an AIO tank the actual tank dimensions are more like 36” x 20” x 16”.

It's going to be a bit overkill with the light. I thought about a single MH, but I wouldn't be able to handle uneven coverage so I went with the two. I have a lot of room to work with over the tank so I will be starting close to 24" above the water line (per the suggestion of shifty51008)

I fired the light up off the tank to make sure that everything is working properly. It works and it throws a ton of light.

Solid aluminum housing, and look at how thick the glass is, I mean damn! Awesome light especially running the radiums. Great choice. I added ReefBrite XHO strips to the light for LED pop during the evenings etc. Mounts perfectly using the unused screws on the ends of the unit!

Thought i'd share...

Wow that's a lot of light over a 60 gallon tank! I was very worried about a single MH covering the 36" width as well, and ended up calling hamilton for advice. They said "we've been putting a single MH over 36" tanks for a decade with no problems".

We'll see how the coverage ends up once I get it hung. I'm aiming for about 10" off the water, 24 seems really high.

With the correct reflector a single mh can cover 36" however ive seen alot of 36" tanks with a center brace, that center brace makes it so you need 2 mh's

Mine is rimless. I probably could have easily gone with a single 250, but still opted for the dual just to ensure complete and even coverage.

Well the light is up. I need to make a few modifications to my armature to reinforce it. I'll get some pictures up once I finish it up.

My issue now is heat. I thought (and hoped) that I wouldn't have too much of an issue with heat. I may be wrong, after three hours yesterday temp went up about 2.5 degrees. Worried about what's going to happen when I reach my full photoperiod and when the ambient temperatures are warmer.

That seems odd. My 48 in. heats the tank up, maybe one degree. Do you have the clear bottom shield in place? And are both fans operating. Those two things should take care of a lot of the heat. My temp range varied a bit more when I ran a full open top. Now I have a glass top , with a bit cut out for hang on filtration and gas exchange. If I remember correctly, you have a relatively shallow tank, so might want to try one. They also greatly reduce evaporation so you top off a lot less.

I have a relatively shallow open top tank. That combined with with having an AIO (no sump to add additional volume and a cool place for the water under the tank) likely leads to the temp increase.
